As Michael and Vita’s Oysterfest nears I am hoping the Gulf Coast oystercatchers are hard at work.
Di won’t be having any, but I will be making up for it and plan on helping Wintzels oyster shucker keep in practice.
My tummy is growling already.
If you folks haven’t signed up now is a great time to do so. Cheap oysters, good friends, and nothing to do but relax and enjoy.

I spoke with Courtney Fox at Bella Terra last week and she cautioned me that there are only a couple of spots remaining available near the Oysterfest group! (There are a few spaces left in other parts of the resort however).
Courtney also informed me that Bella Terra is hosting a Casino Night in the clubhouse while we are there with professional equipment/dealers. The Casino Night is not associated with Oysterfest, but our attendees are welcome and invited to participate!
In the next few days, I’ll begin posting details including schedule, the oyster prices, etc. to bring everyone up to speed.
Ya’ll come and let’s have a blast!

I don’t want to steal any of Michael’s thunder, but as one of the original Oysterfest attendees (along with Roger and Micki and Bob and Debi) I cannot go to the gulf coast area without visiting Wintzels during happy hour which starts at 3:00.
The first time we went we went to Wintzels in Mobile, downtown, and oysters were $40 a dozen. As Oysterfest grew we got into the habit of all of us showing up for happy hour and some of us had as many as 6 dozen. When we were there last year (Wintzels at Orange Beach) oysters had jumped up to $50 a dozen.
Damn, I’m getting hungry.

Sadly Michael and Vita will be unable to host the Oysterfest due to some medical issues they are experiencing.
However, Oysterfest is still on, and as soon as we can contact Bella Terra we will see how much of the agenda Michael has posted above can be followed.
Regardless please plan on showing up as scheduled. We can all work together to have fun.

Don’t believe it. I can’t dance, couldn’t carry a tune in a bucket, so I can’t entertain anyone.
But Tom is going to give tours of his new coach.

Sad to say but I can’t make it this year. I have a wedding party to attend that weekend. Ya’ll have fun.

For all attending plan on a wine and cheese get-together on Tursday evening 4:00 to 6:00. It will be good time to get everyone together to renew old friendships and meet new friends.
Wintzells will have it’s 1/2 price oysters at happy hour which begins at 3:00 weekdays. The closet Wintzells is in Orange Beach, less than 10 miles away. The last I heard the current price at happy hour was $60 a dozen.
On Saturday evening, starting at 6:00 and at $25 a head is Casino Night. The available games are Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, and Texas Hold-em. Play for prizes. The gals at Bella Terra can provide more details.
Rumor has it Tom will wash and dry all coaches.
If you are not signed up, don’t miss this great opportunity to put Tom to work, eat a bunch of oysters, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Bella Terra.
I should mention Tom’s usual coach washing fee is $1000, but for Oysterfest attendees he will offer a special of $2000 per coach. It does include drying.

We are not going to be able to attend as my wife and I are not feeling well. We hoped we would improve but it is not going to happen. Sure wanted to be in on the fun, the weather looks great and I wanted to watch Jon eat all those good oysters, Hope to be there next year.

Sorry (for us!) that we were not able to make 2013 OysterFest at the last minute. A problem with our Radiator and coolent system did not get “taken care of” till the last minute and I was done in by one of these nasty flu bugs. Amazing how as we age , what used to be minor, can really put one down. That said, I am about to conquer thes nasty bug , but could not get bus to Branson for the work till too late to make it and did not think you all would appreciate a germ laden bus driver in your midst. Jon, I owe you a dozen Oysters for not making it for our “Talk”. Hope you all enjoy your time as I am sure you will. Shucks.

Well, we’re down to our last day of the excellent Snot Ball Fest and I’m sure there is now a shortage of Oysters thanks to Larry and Jon.
Last night was Pizza night compliments of Prevost Community and each member received a $10000 to help offset the high fuel cost. Aren’t you feeling bad now that you didn’t make it?
