While we are talking air compressor, air pressure issues, – Has anyone experienced an air dryer failure while rolling? Today my coach lost all air pressure and the compressor could not recover. Air was escaping thru the pressure relief at the bottom of the Halidex air dryer. I eventually built up enough pressure to limp home and whatever was preventing the valve from closing corrected itself and air pressure returned to normal and all was good.

I verified it is the air dryer by jacking up the bus and hooking the shop air compressor to the rean inlet valve and it’s a continious leak. Even tapped on with a small hammer. Need a bigger hammer.

But— when I cut off the engine to unload at the house, then refired again the valve is stuck open again. Any suggestions, – Is their a rebuild kit?

Sounds like the purge valve, Gil just had to do his as well, look at the next thread. When I hook shop air to mine it leaks out the purge valve as well. As soon as I shut off the air at the rear fill, it quits. The Royale did the same thing.

Wow! Mine did not fail on the road but it sounded so bad that I was afraid that it was going to fail.. The last thing I want is to lose air on the road.
