  • Marathon XL-II cargo bay TV change out

Posted by AL on March 9, 2014 at 8:25 pm

Working this week installing a flat screen TV in place of factory installed CRT back in 2005. With the help of a former Marathon tech expert advice with suggestions we installed a Samsung 40 inch LED. Normal sound is from the Samsung speakers. The rear box speakers are adjustable separate from the TV with sound adjustable through the radio using AUX mode.

Normal TV speaker range is perfect but while attending some outdoor events….. Increase as needed such as tailgate events.

Samsung purchased from Best Buy. Mount purchased from Costco @ $63.00 extends 16 inch from cabinet and turns left or right.

Marathon 2005 installed TV on slide in-out with turn tray mount New 40 inch Samsung slim line..2 inch thick

With the latest slim line TV’s the need of having to remove the cabinet shaving off the back was eliminated. Had 3 1/4 inch between front of cabinet and back of closed bay door. TV is held against cabinet with foot long strips of commercial velcro ( seen on right side of speaker) . Just a little wiggle to bring TV out for viewing angle.

Looks great Al. Plus now you have more room for tools and spare parts. (Or an inventory of adult beverages)

I went the opposite way. Removed the TV and stereo cabinet. Now, I have additional storage space for 2 folding bikes and assorted other stuff.

Great idea Jon, using space for adult beverage.

I’am looking around for a small wine refrig. Must have a compressor.

Finding the right one this would be perfect install behind the flat screen.

Al, good to know you have your priorities in order.

I agree with use of the space for booze rather than tools or spare parts.
