Marathon XL Air Horns and Step Cover Slide
Hello, call out to our Marathon XL owners for any info on the location within the forward compartment under drivers seat for the air horn solenoid. I’ve been checking off my list of things to repair and now it’s air horn and step cover slide time. I haven’t searched yet but will working on it this weekend. I have located the regulator for the step slide and it was not pressurized, I pressurized it to 60 psi but step cover didn’t work. So any help on the location of the relay and solenoid for the step cover would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Jerry: The electric solenoid for the airhorns on our coach in the steering bay, under the driver’s seat, driver’s side, ahead of the left front tire. Open the door and I find the solenoid near the floor of the bay at the front of the opening (near the lower door hinge). I’m not near the coach otherwise I’d take a picture for you. Mine stuck open, I had to use a Visegrips to shut the horn off, and then had it replaced with a quarter turn ball valve added to the discharge side.
I suspect my air horn solenoid was installed by Prevost and isn’t unique to the converter, so its very likely your solenoid is in the same place as ours.
Now idea on the step cover. I think that might be a converter installed item.
Good luck with your search!

Here is an ex Marathon owners comment. The horn air pressure on my 04 Marathon H was not regulated. I did a redo in my airlines and you can see the line going to the horn and labeled. Much newer vintage, but you can see the setup.
Note – Ignore the yellow arrow, the photo was used previously to help a member indentify the drain for the Prevost aux tank.
