  • Marathon Water System Question

Posted by Michael on July 2, 2025 at 6:34 pm

We are about to get a “new to us” Marathon XLII moving from a custom-built XL. I have a question for any Marathon owners. Someone told me the Marathon water system is designed to fill the freshwater tank and use the 120V pump to support your water needs then only use the campground water supply to fill the tank. We are accustomed to attaching the campground supply through a pressure regulator and using the campground supply when parked and only using the freshwater tank when not connected. Can someone confirm how you manage water in your Marathon and explain? Thanks so much!!

Terry thanks for the reply. That is what I would like to do, and I plan to install a RO under the kitchen sink for drinking water which is what we have today on our XL. I just didn’t know given their 110-volt pump if they suggested a different approach which is what someone told me. Thanks!

the pump would not matter as far as i know. on my xlv i put my r/o in the water bay and the tank above the inverters on that shelf. didn’t want to lose the space under the sink. your coach maybe different locating equipment. good luck.

Terry is correct on my XL you don’t need the pumps when connect to campground water. I have a tank fill button that operates a relay to open the fresh water tank for filling….but I don’t use my pumps when connected. I use bottle water for drinking…I’m not that comfortable with using my fridge water until I replace my old Amana Fridge next year.
