  • Marathon dimmer light controls

Posted by Glenn on October 30, 2014 at 9:50 pm

Anyone know how to easily identify or reset the light control for a certain part of the coach? I think I can figure it out but want to be sure.

Was swapping out overhead lights today with LEDs, all work no problem, but there are two lights on their own switch in the water closet, was going to fast on that area and did not kill power and maybe shorted one of the LEDs when installing one of them. They lit up after that but would not go past second lowest dim, now no power at all.

It looks like all of it is in the AV closet and is resetable and also has a fault light, but nothing stands out to me right now!

Found the right 2 channel fet node, fuses ok, tried to reset no joy. With regular 12v bulb no light, install LEDs and I have two lowest settings, nothing past that!

    EDIT:

Did some more looking, have another 2 channel node with spare output, may swap those tomorrow, looks like a small transistor or something got burned on output side that controls water closet lights.

    G-man,

I’m in the middle of this change out as well. Any chance the LED is causing this problem with Techlink? I hope not, would hate to have to go back.

Tom, no the LEDs will be fine. Infact I followed the link you posted and bought the ones from eBay, am liking those better than the ones I tried before.

Anyways, I spoke with the people who built these for Marathon, very nice folks and really helpful, may have been a fluke or I shorted something but looks like node is mostly working just a small burnt part or something on board they can repair if I send it in.

They also stock new replacement parts and I think can also program stuff for you if you should ever need. I guess I cant just swap nodes as it will need to be programmed. They built all this stuff exclusivley for Marathon, so very knowledgable about it all.

Anyways, go ahead and change your lights, not going to affect techlink or the techlon nodes or anything.

OK Thanks. Steve at California Coach told me there is a place that can repair the Relay Nodes, I also have one of the 5 Nodes with one bad circuit I need to have repaired as well. PM me the information or post it here if you would please.

Call em up, HERE is the website ! 610-682-9764

They are very familiar with Marathon (obviously), even asked which coach # I had. You can try and reset yours, but if you already did that then just call em up and give them your info then send it in.

    Really nice people and helpful.

I tried reset on mine, no joy, oddly as I look closer at the LEDs now, they light up and dim at all settings all the way down, but very very low light, so kinda working but obviously nowhere near full voltage.
