Hi Charles, I had a motor shade go out and got one from Liberty. They are pricey if you ask me. The motors are on line ebay etc if you look around and are about the same price as at Liberty. I had to manually roll up the shade until I replaced the motor.

When you say driver’s side, do you mean front or side privacy shade?

side window. But the motors on all the privacy shaded seem to be the same. Just different lenghts.

Right now it doesn’t roll up or down. Even if I try to manuall move it.

I am thinking the motor part is inserted into the tube that holds the shade. Can’t figure out how to get the tube off the motor either.

I guess I could just roll up the shade from the bottom and “tie” it up to the tube with velcro straps. That way I can still use it until I get this repaired.

But I am thinking there is a way to roll it up manually on the roller. Basically disengage the gears from the motor?

If you roll it up try not to fold it as it will leave marks in it…On one end of the roller look and see if there is a plastic piece usually white on the end with the bracket. That piece will twist 1/4 turn and will allow that end of the roller to come out…

Just remove the whole shade, like Jeff said, twist, unhook the wires and take it down.

I had figure out the getting it off the bracket, but the side with the motor has the wire running behind the window frame and has about an inch of play.

I think for now I will simple roll it up form the bottom (not fold it, but roll) and velcro wrap that rolled up portion to the roller at the top.

Mine had mini plugs on the end for power. The wires may be inside the framing, but mine were all long enough to allow unhooking and had plenty of slack.
