Manual windows
Does anybody know where you can get the washer and gasket for the manual awning windows ??? prevost does not carry this part any more , they just carry the articulating arm not the gasket or washer rubber ring …

If you mean the washer that goes over the rod that opens the window, I use the rubber washers that are from a water hose. Bought a pack of them at the hardware store and they fit perfect and stopped a lot of my leaks.

Hmm, there is supposed to be a washer? My awning windows whistle when the wind hits the bus just right. It is worse when the OTR is on (pressurizing the bus). I use a piece of rubber under the rod to pretension it but it falls out every time we open the window. I have to try the washer idea.

Gerald, your OTR should not be pressurizing the bus or creating a vacuum. Ours fresh air intake for the heat and AC system is blocked, plus there is a baffle closing it so all air is just recirculated. Unless you have other than Prevost OTR.

Had some felt washers made to the same specs as the prevost ones will be here in two days will let you guys know how they work out, plus the company did not charge me for the washers or the shipping!!!!!! Sweet !!!!!!!!

Jon, our coach is definitely pressurized. But I have not changed the fresh air damper setting in the OTR heat exchanger bay. Probably too much outside air. I should probably close it.
I have new found respect for those OTR blowers. Today, I ran the OTR heat at full blast with the heat exchanger bay door open (while flushing coolant). When I opened the door, I could definitely feel the interior de-compressing; the door popped open with vigor.
This should come in handy. Next time, when I’m searching for a roof leak, I’ll make sure to run the fan at full speed with the OTR door open which gets you all outside air. Should really help to find those leaks.

Mine actually has a restrictor plate welded in the fresh air intake, so no way I could ever use it to pressurize the interior. Wish I had the option to find interior air leaks.

How often does the roof leak? On coaches say 95/96 and newer?

On a ’99, I fixed two and I’m still chasing a minor one in the front cap seam area. There are a lot of penetrations in the roof. Sooner or later as the caulking ages, the bus flexes and people walk on the roof, some of them will leak. Similar to chasing air leaks.

The late model XL coaches used a single sheet of aluminum for roofing and the only seams are at the front and rear caps. I have not ever found any leaking at those seams, but my 97 had a leak at one of the roof penetrations. That leak was at an antenna and easily fixed with a clear sealant. Gerald is exactly right in that if the OTR fresh air baffle is open and the restrictor cap is removed the coach will be pressurized and a little soapy water will show all leaks, including windows and the door easily.
Some coaches have the OTR fresh air intake sealed, but usually the cap can be removed.
For those with XLII coaches with OTR it is very easy to test for skin delamination also using this method.

washer on the bottom is old one…new washer from Aetna felt corporation on top! And it fits awesome!
