maintaining air pump
Still trying to run out some auxillary air issues, I am being told that Prevost has what is called a “maintaining” air pump, and mine is not operating. If anyone is familiar with this please share any info that would be helpful. My repair shop says they cannot diagnose or repair this and that it is strictly a Prevost component.

Auxiliary compressors are installed by the converters so if you can see or get at yours you can learn what brand, model and size you have.
Perhaps some Featherlight owners can help here.

Mine on my Royal is about the size of a basketball and silver in color I believe. As Jon mentioned, converter installed, so I could be anywhere.

On my featherlite it’s located inside the generator hush box off to the side. Very easy to get to on my bus not sure if it’s the same for others

It is likely inside the generator hush box. You should have a breaker in the panel and a switch on the dash to control the air compressor. There is also a switch that controls the pressure and unloads the line located in the compartment under the driver’s seat. I replaced the air compressor on my 2000 only to find that it needed a capacitor.
