Prevost is now at 19,000# on the X3, and maybe the H. I spoke to Bill Jensen about steer axle weight a while back and he indicated they can get to 20,000# but the engineers would have to add about 1000# of additional strength so obviously axle weights are about where they are going to be.

Sticking big tires on an axle does absolutely nothing to change the weight rating of the axle because there is so much involved and it involves substantialy more than just bigger tires.
