  • Lost control Webasto heat

Posted by Bill on December 9, 2023 at 9:14 am

1998 Country Coach. We are in ND and it’s freezing! Yesterday the heat came on as usual and warmed things up but I noticed the “Heat On” button was off. Usually if this happens I can turn of the Central Heat Control and the Interior heat.exchanger buttons on each side and then back on again. This time the control button turns ooff bt the heat exchanger button will not. However, the heat exchanger are not blowing any air. The Webasto is working if I manually use a jumper to get it to start (Thanks to Rudy helping me troubleshoot that part!) but no command is being sent to get it to fire up via the interior controls.

There are circuit boards in the first bay but are there also relays or some easily accessible/replaceable that I might be able to trace down? Only needed it to work a few more days as we are leaving ND in a few days but, no such luck.

If we can’t get anything done here we hope to visit ETLC on or way SoutSouth for the Winter. It’s been a bad year with a new engine air compressor and new ECM…$$$…

Thanks for any thoughts or insight.

So the answer is a blown 7.5 amp fuse on what I have to assume is the heat control board. Lots of fuses on lots of boards. I feel lucky that I was able to find it as the fuses on each board nearly butt against the next board so testing by touching the metal ends of each one was not an option.

We had a nice warm 30 degree day with no wind so I could easily pull everything out of the bay and get access to the control boards.
