here is the saga , last year i replaced the norgen valves , leveling valves, 5 way valve and all was fine bus stayed up perfect for 7 days days….. I went on a 1000k trip no problems until …. on the way home pulled in for some fuel .. i shut the bus down after letting her cool down … got out of the bus and the right rear down on her butt….. fueled and started her up checked the height all was good … ran all the home … stopping and checking the level to make sure she was good…. I got home shut her down , she went down on her butt only on the right side .. start her up and then shut her down she stays up no problem … on monday i took her in to get the interior updated…. started her up did a walk around all fine .. went about 1 mile there she was right side down on her butt…. i stopped about every mile or so and turned her then back on … each time when i stop and dont drive she will stay up…. drive about a mile back down on her butt… i put a new leveling valve today , which i just replaced before the last trip… she has stayed up now about 12hrs…. cross my fingers…. i havent driven it …. my coach does have the auto tag lift in it,, the shop owner where the bus is has a coach 3 S/N from mine and he diabled his auto lift… he told me today that every he knows that has that system has diabled it… what do you folks think,,, the bus is set up to go to Eugene for shop Paint work and i really dont want any problems on the road…

My first thought was height control valve leaking because I had the same symptoms many years ago, and that was the culprit, so I would say your on the right track.

Regarding tag auto lift, the switch to activate that is triggered by a full or near full lock turn and is located at the steering arm. There is also a switch on the dash to negate it. I haven’t recognized any problems with mine yet, but I don’t have the sensitivity to feel if it is working either. Unless you can identify with certainty that it is causing a problem, I would leave it. And if it is, why not fix it? To each his own here, but I try to keep systems as originally designed as possible.

Early 90’s they tried that (auto lift) then discontinued it. after a few years. FWIW

    Busnut,

Do you then lose all your aux air when it drops after shutting off the bus or does the rear just fall and aux air remains full in the tank?

If I were to guess the three port valve between the tag and drive might be leaking. The ride height could be leaking also. But I think the vintage of coach might possibly have the reverse logic on the suspension system and if that is the case Tom’s question is important.

no the Aux air is there …. the shop replaced the leveling valve and drove it around put it in the shop .. i just got back from there and she is sitting there proud all ready to go… she hasnt lost anything in 24hrs …… one would think the leveling valve i put in last summer would of lasted a little long, But as we all know things do break or go bad… for the air suspension …. the right rear has been a pain in the Butt — . ever since i purchased this coach… the left and the front will hold air for 3 weeks ….. i will be happy with 24hrs on the right …. They are now starting the interior upgraded/remodel…….
