  • Looking for Coach Input

Posted by John on July 16, 2016 at 6:05 pm

The latest coach at the top of the list in our search for our first Prevost is the 2004 Royale at Lazy Days in Tucson.

Sent all the questions I learned I should ask from attending the ETLC Seminar. Have not received any service

info yet. They did send the VIN# VIN# 2PCW3349131028149.

Would appreciate any info from the community on the coaches history or specific concerns for this vintage.

    Here’s the link: https://www.lazydays.com/rvs/tucson-az/class-a/prevost-prevost-u146910

    Thanks to everyone in advance.

We looked at this coach a year ago at Lazy Days. At the time, it dropped all the way down on the passenger side overnight, so it obviously had a bad leak. The dark cabinets were refinished by a an amateurish brush job–suspect it originally had light maple cabinets. A previous owner had put a king-size bed in place of the original bed. As a result, you cannot open the door to the shoe cabinet apparent in the pictures. There were also a couple of drawers that could not be opened due to the same reason. The driver’s window could only go back up in stages–similar to the issue Jon described. We did not drive the coach–seeing the issues with the coach was enough for us. If the poor stain job does not bother you, the rest of the issues can be resolved if the coach meets your criteria. Slides worked OK when the salesman ran them in and out.

I was interested in the coach and passed on it. They have had it a while, it needs lots,of money. They have used one of their techs to work on it, not sure on how qualified he is on working on a Prevost . My recommendation is to pass on it. Do not let the low price attract you. You get what you pay for, and if it sounds to good to be true…..

    Greg,

Thanks for the reply. The large price drop caught our attention. My wife has always been parcel to the Royales.

Not getting any real answers regarding service history is making more sense.

    Thanks again,

The mention of the coach leaning could be an indicator of a small problem easily addressed or it could be just one of many relatively small issues that can show the maintenance history is not what a buyer should expect.

The fact Lazy Days is not responding, along with some of our members in the past expressing their views that Lazy Days service does not come up to the standards our members are used to is likely a warning flag.

Don’t know about Tuscon, but in central Fla…the saying is…..”LazyDays? where Prevo’s go to die” Geo.
