  • Looking for Clutch

Posted by Archived on July 24, 2012 at 3:58 pm

At some point one of my engine driven air conditioner compressors was replaced. The replacement unit is a QUE 31 series and the pulleys are the wrong width. The one that’s installed is for “A” sized belts and it should have been equipped with “B” sized pulleys. I think the model number I need is QPCL-0166.

Searching the web I found the manufacturer, TCCI and a distributor, Worldair. So far I haven’t been able to reach either and haven’t found another source. When I get back to the lower 48 should I expect an easier time finding one at a NAPA store or the like?

    Gil,

If you are near Homer, Alaska and in a tough bind, let us know here. Ed & I have several friends that live there and one of them happens to own a Prevost there and also owns/runs an AC/Heating business. Pretty sure he could help you out if in a bind.

    Gil,

Are you talking about the dash air compressor or CC’s version of OTR?

    Thanks all.

I’ll follow up with the eBay seller. I am in Homer, leaving in the morning. It’s not a critical fix as it was working with B sized belts across A sized pulleys. I did lose a belt in Edmunton and replaced both. I also bought belts to bypass the compressor. I don’t really need the AC, so I installed the bypass belts yesterday.

This compressor is for CC’s version of OTR air.

Capt Mogul are you in Homer? I saw a Royale in one of the campgrounds.

    Again, thanks!

No Gil. We aren’t in Homer. We are in Florida. We were just trying to help you out if you were in a bind. Several of our friends live there in Homer. This friend in particular, keeps his bus at his home there in Homer. Enjoy your adventure and hopefully we can meet in person one day soon. Hope you got to go fishing some while there in Alaska. One of our other friends there in Homer has a charter fishing business there. The name of his charter company is CAPT BOB’S. Bob goes pheasant hunting in North Dakota with Ed (CAPT MOGUL) every year.

Again, safe travels and let us know if we can assist in getting you help in Homer if needed.

Thanks Sandy. We did go halibut fishing and did well. We tried salmon fishing and didn’t do so well. It didn’t matter because our campsite neighbor did well and was gracious enough to share. Today the sun finally came out 🙂 We’re in Palmer having just finished salmon and halibut for dinner and had time to even wash the coach.
