I do have total faith in the updated one , I don’t think the updated one if it breaks will both inside and outside handles not work one or the other will still work

Isn’t this failure rather unique? I have owned a Motorhome every year since 1969, and I had never heard of anyone being locked in a Prevost. But, then I might just be out of the loop.

Hugh,
There have been a number of posts from members that could not get in the coach due to a failed outside handle latch release. As thisd post shows a total unlatching failure can also occur.
There was a post not too long ago that showed photos of that particular latch mechanism that failed due to a poor weld. Prevost has used at least two different types of mechanisms and unfortunately we don’t have enough information to know if the failures are associated with only one or if it continues to be a problem.

Hello All,
We are having a harder and harder time opening our coach from the outside. Pretty much pull up so far on the handle it almost hits the coach. I took apart the interior of the door over the weekend and didn’t see any way to adjust it. It just looks like the plastic piece becomes rounded off and really has no leverage. My fear is that it is going to fail with my 4 chis inside and I won’t be able to get to them.
I have tried to find the part to order a new one. But I can’t seam to. I see where there is the name TriMark on the deadbolt but when I go their site I see nothing that resembles the handle.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
