Little Giant Ladder origina install location
Hello, we just aquired our first Prevost Marathon, 2000 H3-45, lots to learn / understand.Our documentation indicates that there was a laddder installed in the 3rd bay rear wall, but cannot locate the mounting, of course ladder is long gone. I was curious of the mount design, if any, thank you

Welcome to PC and Marathon ownership. Seems to be many Marathon “H” models showing up here.
Some one must have a 2000 Marathon with the mounting still there.
I also would like to see where it was stored.

Mine is stored in the 3rd bay on the drivers side on a shelf above the inverters. Marathon also put a jack and various shore power adapters there as well. Mine is an XLii so I do not know whether that is relevant to yours.

Speaking of Little Giant Ladders, which one is most appropriate for a Prevost XLV owner?
I see models extending to 11′ (Model 13) and 15′ (Model 17). Is 11′ enough to get to the top of the XLV or does one have to go to a 15′ model with the extra one foot of storage length?

Dick, according to the owners manual, XL / XLV should use 13ft extension, H3 should use 17ft

TG, thanks, I have the lift tooling on driver side 2nd bay, no ladder or othe supports.

My Little Giant is on the drivers side, 3rd bay with it’s own storage space and is 17 foot.

My ladder is stored vertically in the third bay, strapped to the side of the box where the Marathon chairs are stored. It is held in place with a nylon strap with a snap.
My ladder extends to 11 feet (as an extension ladder), which would get you on the roof in an emergency, if you were willing to lean the ladder against the coach.
I just bought a new Little Giant for accessing the roof of the bus while at home. It is 9 feet long when retracted, 17 feet high when fully extended in A- frame configuration. In other words, it is an adjustable height ( up to 17′) stepladder. Unlike typical Little Giants, it does not convert to an extension ladder.

Thanks, we have our chairs on C/S 1st bay, no room to store anything there, pretty tight. I will check if there is enough room between bay slide on wall to clear the latter.

Since we all carry different things I have modified all of my coaches in the storage bays to suit or accomodate my “stuff”. I just try to create a plan that allows me to place the most used stuff easiest to access, and that doesn’t allow for wasted space. Sometimes I have had to redo my storage since my needs changed or I needed to do a better job.
It’s a good weekend project that usually only involves a power screw driver, maybe some velcro, and maybe some wood strips or blocks for spacing.
There is no single right answer to how to store things.

Jon: Which Little Giant Ladder do you carry in your XL? Is it high enough to get you to the roof comfortably and safely?

I have a folding Werner ladder
I have used this for the entire time we have owned a coach and I like that I can use it as a step ladder, scaffold or fully opened as an extention ladder. It is not as space efficient as the Little Giant, but it works so well I will stick with it.
I am not sure of the actual height but it is taller than the coach when extended and I can get on the roof. It does not look like the photo when collapsed, but is basically a 12″ high box the width of the ladder by the length of the ladder sections.
