  • Lithium Batteries

    Hi All,

I have been involved in a Lithium Battery project lately.

Among other things to consider Here is the number one thing to avoid.

Jon posted this a while ago, but here is another post enforcing a no no.

Do not put 2 12 volt Lithium batteries in series ro get 24 volts unless they have a common BMS.

There is a strong probability you will have a battery failure. Due to the low internal resistance of these batteries one will fail due to load variances.

Use 24 volt Lithium batteries or a system that has a common BMS for all batteries.

The risk of overheat and possible fire is very real.

Yep, go 24v in parallel, otherwise out of balance occurs.
