  • Lithium batteries with a power outage

Posted by Art on May 26, 2025 at 8:45 am

Our power went out Thursday night at 9:00pm and they said back on by 11:00pm Did not happen, Off all day Friday and came back on Friday night at 10:00pm 25 hours it was out, That has never happened before, We have 12k watts of solar with no batteries so during the day solar was dead. A couple of times sales people have tried to sell me solar batteries but I say that our power never goes off because we are on the hospital grid, we have a hospital about a 1/2 mile away from us. But anyways Friday afternoon I ran a good size cord from bus to garage refrigerator and put house refrigerator stuff in the one refrigerator, house refer is hard to get to cord. I ran the generator for an hour and batteries were about 70 percent so I shut gen off and inverted the large refer in garage for around 6 hours it worked perfect, at 10 when power came back on I shut off power from bus batteries and back to house, It used 10 to 15 percent power from Lithium batteries NOT BAD
