LIQUID CHARGING OTR A/C
I’ve been fighting leaks on my otr for awhile (it’s been to Prevost about 6 times over an extended period) and I’m back to recharging myself occasionally.
I recharge from a 30# r-134a tank into the low pressure side (gas charge). Don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but I can’t get the last 10 or so #s of freon out of the tank by this method. I believe there is a way to liquid charge our systems also.
1. Is there a way to get to the last 10# by gas charging?
2. What is procedure to liquid charge?

You can put liquid into the system via the receiver.
You can usually install the theoretical total amount in pounds if the system has had a vacuum pulled on it.
You can top it off correctly by connecting the gas side (not liquid) of the 134 bottle to the suction side and running the bus and system and allowing pressures to come to the needed levels.
If you have trouble getting freon into a system putting the bottle in hot or warm water often helps.
Just some hints.

Put about a gallon of hot water from a house faucet into a five gallon bucket and set the keg of Freon in it and charge via gas. Even if you just want to speed up the flow, this will help.

are you raising the rpms to 12-1400. and watch your readings on the gauges. and temps on dash. not the sight glass on 134. in my time the lost freon has almost always been. o rings. normally at the reciver dryer. or condenser fittings. just an input.

Putting the R134a bottle in 125 deg F water (no more!) will allow you to fully charge the system and use the remaining refrigerant in a partially filled bottle.
