  • Lights stay on

I have a problem I at least haven’t seen posted before. I have a 2002 CC XLII with the ECC board. The lights in question are controlled by Mullen switches ( I think this is what they are called) marked Bedroom Overhead Lights. Lights are over the side to side bed mounted in the overhead storage. Switches are on both a front panel in the bedroom wall and one on a back panel also wall mounted. All other ECC controlled items in the bedroom and the rest of the coach are working properly. My CC Users Guide Section XLII Wire List tells me the bedroom ceiling lights are wire number 461, AWG 16 black wire, from ECC card 25A. The Section, Computer Wires tells me the front bedroom panel is wire number FB1, AWG 30 wire from ECC and the rear panel is RB1, AWG 15 wire ECC. I see nothing unusual when I look at the ECC locations listed on the board and behind the front switch panel which I accessed from a closet wall. To darken the room I can remove the bulbs and of course the Master switch cuts the power to the lights. Anyone with suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey George, in my 99 the control card for the bedroom reading lights is slot 19, 20 or 21 in the ECC cabinet.

Mine are dimmer cards and have a heat sink on the face of the card, they are easy to find, only 3 of these cards in the cabinet.

First I would try to go the the master (House Disconnect switch ) above the entry way when you come through the door. This is where mine is. If you are sitting in the passanger seat it is on the panel just above the windshiels.

This turns off all the 12V power the ECC cabinets and all the cards.

Wait a few seconds and turn them back on and see it this resets them.

I don’t remember if there is a fuse on those three cards but if there is you can just pull the fuse on the card to the overhead lights if you don’t need them.

By the way if you didn’t know the living room lights over the couch and over the other side , I have a chair and desk in my coach, they are dimmable. When you turn them on just hold the switch in and they will dim.

I didn’t know this for about 3 years till someone told me.

Charles it turned out to be card 20. Pulling the fuse saved the day (night). Thanks. I got behind the board tonight and looked it over and saw nothing unusual but the toggle switch seemed to have no effect.
