light panel
So I am new to things that go on an off with the touch of a button. The normal color is yellow if off and green if on. In the bath, all the buttons work but the fan light is red when off and dark when on. The other bath light button stays green whether on or off. If there something I can do/ need to do to make them right again or is it best to ignore since all buttons work.

Ther are 2 color leds behind the buttons. Red and green, combined they make yellow. Sounds like the green one is not working. This is usually due to the connector connecting the panel. Try refreshing the connector. Be careful the connector is one pin short of the panel. Be sure you don’t miss by a pin when reconnecting it. If that does not do it it my be the connector in the panel in the first bay. It may be a connection on the switch board. The leds rarely fail, so that would be my last guess. You can measure the voltage going to the leds to be sure you have 5 volts on each.

Mine will turn red on occasion. Usually, it just takes removing the led (grab the outer edges and gently pull it out), blow out any dust then carefully reconnect. This usually fixes it.

How would I access the bulb?

Just grab the outer edges of the square button and pull out.
May need to use a pair of pliers.
Some times the buttons lose contact with the tiny little prongs down in the switch.
If that doesn’t work it could be an led out, but the 11 years I had my CC none of them ever burnt out.
If when you push the button the intended function works then it won’t be the card down in the ECC cabinet.

The original bulbs were incandescent, as LED’s weren’t around much in ’98. Several of ours have gone out over the years. If re-seating the bulb doesn’t do the trick, I’ve just put in a new one, which are LED. It’s slightly brighter, but not at all distracting. I ordered 10-20 (min order of 10) of them once I found the source and figured out the order codes. They are special order and are made in Japan. Was 6-8 week lead time as I recall.

So….am I going to try to pull the movable button out of the socket or am I trying to pull the entire socket out of the wall?

Thanks. Just got a new towed to match the new bus so very busy! Have to get the towed outfitted quickly. Also hope to get some paint work dealt with by Xtreme Paint if time allows. Whew!
