  • Liberty Interior Halogen Bulb Replacements

Posted by Archived on January 21, 2012 at 9:19 am

I’d love to cut the power draw by my lamps. Because of another thread I visited this site and found something of interest. Will one of you electrical guys (or Jon) comment on whether these should work in a 24V system?

I know they will work in place of the halogen bulbs. What I don’t know is if they will function as intended using the dimmer. I read one Prevost owner used them and left one halogen in the system so the dimmer function worked.

Keep in mind I am relaying a recollection so either ask the supplier or hope someone that actually knows what they are talking about answers your question.

I know that the LED lights that DKO was talking about can be used with a dimmer, the LEDs look the same. An Email or phone call to the company would settle the fact.

On the new bulbs you show as replacements the connectors exit the side of the bulb fixture as opposed to the halogens out the top. Have you figured a way to use the new ones yet without a fixture modification?

    Thanks

You can buy either back pin or side pin G4 base LED bulbs. Try another source , I buy the bulbs for my store from Luxor lighting but there are many sources.

I put in 24 volt led g-4 on ebay and ck out back pin. I preferr the warm white around 3000 band not so harsh and more like sun light. Prefer Usa shipper. Paying around $3.60 each free shipping. Coach total led hope this helps Bob

    Guys

This site http://www.store.marinebeam.com not only has both the G4 bulb orientations Bob was talking about for our halogen/xenon fixtures, it has a great page that explains what a person should choose for bulb type and why. It also explains on the page what advantages and disadvantages LEDs have over halogen/xenon bulbs. Like all marine products, not cheap but for 10 bulbs at $165 with an 85% less power use and each bulb is still equivalent to 20 watt halogen/xenon bulb. HTH
