Liberty Cruise airs on hot days
We are on the road and spent 12 days in Maryland and had some very hot temps while we were there. Heat Index as high as 106F for several days. the first really hot day I had 2 cruise airs shut down due to HI/PS errors and a 3rd one that was acting funny(real technical term there).
So, the next day I raised the bus up as high as I could get it with the level low. That really did the trick. No more HI/PS errors and all 4 cruise airs worked great. Getting more air space under the bus really does help.
So, if you have issues when parked, try raising the bus up. It is a quick and easy way to see if that solves your problem.

I’ve also found that the surface you are parked on can have an affect on the HI/PS issue. Grass is best, followed by gravel, concrete and lastly asphalt.
Of course no matter what you are parked on or how tall you are, they still blow a lot of heat out from under the coach. For those of us who sit outside, it is one more drawback of cruise airs VS roof airs.

Not only raise the bus if practical, but cool off the surface you are sitting on by spraying some water on it.

Great tip! And to echo Jon’s comment, we typically hose down the surface under the rig on really hot days in the West – it works great.

If it’s Texas hot I always wet down the pad before we park then the coach shades it and keeps it pretty cool… We have never had to raise the coach but that’s a good idea and never had the HP warnings except in the Vantare once running down the road… we have never run them on the highway in the Liberty…. OTR does the job nicely.

Do the AC’s on you’lls pull from the bottom? Mine pulls from the front behind the bumper with one on swing out so you can access the other 2. Discharge out the bottom of coach.

I have 2 behind the front bumper. They pull air thru the front grill and exhaust out the bottom. I also have 2 in the drivers side 2nd bay that pull air from the bottom and exhaust thru the bottom. When 3 or 4 units are running, a lot of hot air is being pushed under the bus.

Mine behind the front bumper pull air from underneath. How did they duct yours to be able to pull from the front Andre, since the intakes are usually on the bottom of the Cruiseairs?

I might be right, I might be wrong. I thought I knew how it all worked, but now you have me second guessing my assumptions.
The 2 cruise airs behind the front bumper do send hot air out the bottom. That much I am sure of. The coils on the 2 cruise airs behind the bumper do not have any duct work covering them, so the only way they could pull air thru the coils would be from inside the front bumper compartment. The front shutters when open, allow air in thru the front bumper opening.
I will look at it all again next week and try to sort it all out.

All four of my CruiseAirs push air out the bottom of the coach.

The 2 behind the bumper are probably like my 3 in there is copper tubing run to a evaporator and fan to blow the cool air into coach. My 3 are front, middle and back bedroom.

Andre, I think your assumption was correct although I don’t know much about the H3.
The units buried in the belly of the bus just like the ones behind the bumper draw air through the coils horizontally, but it comes up through the wire mesh opening in the belly. The ones behind the bumper draw through openings behind the bumper or through the shutters. All discharge out the bottom
That applies only to Liberty. Others may do the same but I do not know that.

H-3 Vantare does the same. Have 2 Cruise-airs in the spare tire bay and suck air in through the front grill and discharge out the bottom. Additional basement air in third bay behind the generator, assessable from the driver side. Basement air draws in air from louvered panel in bay door and discharges out the bottom.

Sorry Andre, I should have been more clear. The Cruiseair intake air on my Marathon is pulled from the bottom of the coach for the Galley and Bedroom and the Salon and Aux from behind the bumper similar to yours, but no shutters.
