Question do I have to have the engine loop valve open next to the burner to flow to the engine in order to heat the coolant to the water heater ? I just didnt know its always warm to the water heater which is fine. Just if I close the engine coolant supply will it still heat the water heater ?

If the engine is off and you are parked the engine loop needs to be open to get hot coolant to the heat exchanger and the water heater in the water bay , but the other two valves have to be open also to have that work if the other two valves are closed parked or engine running there will be no hot coolant going to the heat exchanger or the water heater or called ( hot water tank )
