Lexus 470
Does anyone have experience towing a Lexus GX 470? Would love to hear some advice.

I towed 2 different GX470’s for many years. Requires no modification and tows great. Put transfer case in neutral and go. Must be 4 wheel drive model.

I am thinking I read that it is no longer possible because of a change in the transfer case. I do not know for sure which model year was the cutoff, maybe someone else here knows. Also, does yours have a steering wheel lock? That may be an issue too…..

I’m in the middle of a trip towing a 2008 GX 470… the last year with the ability to tow. I’ve been towing for 30,000 miles, no issues. Transfer case to neutral, leave in park, leave key in slot but do not turn on. Go.

If you are a FMCA member, you can view the old towable car annual reports on line and see if they are still towable and where a cut off may be.
