leveling indicator bubble always off
As I travel in my 1992 XL40 down the road I notice that my leveling indicator is always one bubble width off of center. I can understand this on a crowned road but 100% percent of the time? This is minor but could my passenger side of the bus be down? Very hard to tell from the drivers seat. Thanks all.

When stopped on level site with coach in road/travel position you can measure behind the tag axle area from the ground to the body line. This way you can see if it is infact differant side to side.

A long time ago I learned a bubble level in a bus was not only likely inaccurate, but it was all over the place when moving.
I suppose there are more precise or scientific ways of getting a coach level, but I do a happy dance if the bathroom door stays wherever I leave it. If the coach is not precisely level the door will swing further open or will swing closed. At this point if the coach is level enough so I don’t roll out of bed it is good enough.

There is a gyro on all our coaches, BUT….after you even find it (sometimes it’s even buried behind a panel in one of the bays) screwing with it is definetly work for the bewildered. We’re like Jon…bathroom door…and now when I do it from the seat I know where the bubble shoud be…and it’s never the circle. Geo.

I wonder if anyone has ever installed an artificial horizon/attitude indicator in their coach.

I used levels on the floor of the bus in the galley, then adjusted the bubble to match.
I could name a few that are half a bubble off at all times….

We use both the Prevost bubble but also a Level app on our Iphones.. Sometimes that damn Prevost bubble is way off. But then, we tend to be a bubble off ourselves.

This is just something I have done over the years………If the site is reasonably level I usually lower the bus all the way down. It makes the first step up into the coach user friendly and the coach isn’t going rock in high winds and it is the laziest way I can think of for leveling the coach.

Like Jon, when the bathroon door stays put, along with the refrigerator door staying where you leave it, I consider that level and that is almost a bubble off with the prevost level. I have a level I bought at an RV dealer, it is dead on when lying on the console, so that is the one I level by.
I remember years ago with a Winnebago, the dealer told me to lay a level in the bottom of the freezer, level to that, then find a place more convenient that corresponds and use that from then on. Works fine if the builder leveled the fridge to start.
