Joe, that thread has conflicting info and doesn’t answer my question. Jon at first says K41EA00 KV1 KS6, then later thought they are K41EA00 KS1 KV2. Jeff Rowe thought they are K41EA00 KS6 KV2.

This is what I’m fairly sure of:

1) the label on the bodies of my valves says K41EA00(3port/2way 3/8″)

2) hey are “normally closed” because the label diagram on the side of my current valves has the arrow pointing from #2 to #3.

Here is what I’m not sure of:

1) are they internally or externally piloted?

2) are they standard 6 watt, or 2 or 12 watt?

3) are they locking or nonlocking?

These things determine if they’re KS1 or 6, and KV1 or 2.

If y’all con’t come up with a definitive Norgren part#, I’ll either just put a repair kit in them(54237-59 in stock @ $23ea) or order new ones from Liberty or Prevost.

I did buy a new main body, K41EA00, off ebay for $30 that will come in handy.

The issue with Norgren numbers has been as frustrating as trying to sort out numbers from air bags.

At one time the Norgrens had the Norgren part number, which has a meaning. Each character or group of characters defines something on a Norgren valve so it made sense. Then Prevost started having the valves marked with proprietary numbers that Norgren distrubutors could not match. Bring them a valve and they can easily provide the correct valve, but obviously that is not always possible.

The keys to getting suitable replacement valves is to understand the valve. The valves shown are solenoid operated actuators. What has to be determined is if the actuator is 12 or 24 volts. The body is a standard 3 port body with what looks like 3/8 pipe fittings. The valve appears to have a spring return on the end opposing the actuator.

On the valve body is a label with a diagram. Typically a three port valve in the normal state has the air path between ports 1 and 2 closed, and when actuated that path opens allowing air flow.

By being able to describe the valve to a distributor or to order one from Norgren on line all one needs to do is be able to describe the various features. Those two valves on a Liberty I believe are used to control the exhaust of air from the drive and tag axle air bags when using the leveling system either manually or the automatic feature.

Just got off the ph w/Dillon @ Norgren. I sent him a picture and description/application while I had him on the ph. He says, like Jon, that it is a K41EA00 KS1 KV2. They have them in stock for $101, but comes with a 120vac coil. Add a 1W1 to the end off the part# for a 12vdc coil, or 1W2 at the end for a 24vdc coil and expect it to take two wks and cost more.

The 12vdc & 24vdc coils are in stock and can be ordered serarately: 12vdc is #54452-02 @ $22ea, or 24vdc #54452-03 @ $16ea.

The solenoid pilot operator repair kit is #54344-17 @ $16 is in stock too.

Depending on age and usage cycles (which are relatively few for the valves shown) a renewal may only require a valve body with spool and possibly the return spring. The solenoid operated actuator probably has very fe cycles on it and can be reused. That is the great thing about norgen valves and their modular construction.

I should mention that rebuilding is always an option, but the system has had to be completely dry its entire life otherwise the inside polished area will not seal as well as a new one. I rebuilt an entire set and bench tested them prior to assembly on the coach, but after a short period of a couple of years they started with small leaks again.
