I have a retarder. The retarder is a big help but my stopping distances still suck. That’s not a criticism of the coach, but recogniition my coach doesn’t stop in anywhere the same distance as a car.

Have a jake on mine and keep the toggle switch on half so when I back off cruise or throttle, brake lights automaticlly come on and vehicles behind see the lights. As long as that jake is humming they’re on.

IBP ( International Bus Parts) stepped up to the plate taking my suggestions to rework there LED light upgrade offered for HS-45 with the square taillights.
1) moved mounting pins further apart by about 1/16 inch. You still have to enlarge hole slightly to accept 1/4 X 20 stud as needed but closely targets existing holes.. much improved
2) Mount studs are electric welded completely to plate, full circle. This is a hugh improvement when tightening in place. On the first set of lights small spot weld broke while installing.
3) A thin gasket is installed to back of stainless bezel. This prevents outside edge of plate scratching paint. Cleaned up extremely sharp laser cut edges on stainless bezel.
4) Used a stronger glue holding mount plate to LED lens.
5) Received a 5% discount being a member of PC along with free shipping.
Existing taillights.
New LED upgrade 17 lights along with needed wiring to Prevost existing sockets. Cost $14126
Next upgrade… headlights.

BA,
You do realize by now that by doing all the upgrades you have done you will have spent an amount of money equal to the amount required to have purchased a newer model with the upgrades aready in place?
Just askin…………
I understand you can do an aftermarket slide installation for about $75,000 per.

I wonder if Al & Tom got together, could they make a deal for two different coaches with slides and get a great deal from one of the coverters??
Just wondering……

One thing that I have noticed a number of times. Most people don’t have a clue what year this bus is and are very surprised when told 14 years old.
That name on the front and back is what they see along with one of a kind paint jobs. Owners see the changes of front and rear caps which tell much more about bus age.
I’am just happy to own one and able to do a lot of things that make it a better bus….. and with the help of many talented PC members on this site.
Enjoying the dream….

Great look Al. The improvement must be huge. What’s your headlight plan.
