  • Lavatory fan motor

Posted by Mike on January 11, 2014 at 7:48 am

Has anyone ever had any problems with the mounts on the lavatory fan motor. The motor itself is fine but it seems to be mounted to the fan simply by the plastic cover. This cover is held in place by two screws which go through two tabs, one on either end. However both of these tabs are broken and there’s no way to mount the motor otherwise.

I found the manufacturer of the motor – Autotrol, but they do not sell individual parts and I can’t find any dealers on the internet either. This seems like a very easy fix but not w/o this plastic cover. Any suggestions?

Is it by chance a Fantastic vent? It sounds like it might be from your description of the motor.

If so, contact Fantastic. They have the motor covers.

Actually I believe it is a fan made by Fantastic. I found their website and there is a part number for the fan motor and cover made by Autotrol. I found an RV dealer in Englewood which is very close to where we are right now that sells Fantastic fan parts. Hopefully they can get the Autotrol motor cover part that I need and if so its an easy fix.

    Thanks Bob

    Mike,

Fantastic really good to work with, they’re known for great customer service and actually sending folks parts at no charge. You may want to give them a call since your’s is not that old.

OK Tom will do. It can’t hurt to call and see what they say.

    Thanks.

    Tom,

I just got off the phone with a customer service rep at Fantastic and you were right. I just gave her the id numbers of the motor and she knew exactly the cover that I needed and said it would be in the mail today – at no charge. Now that is customer service!

Thanks again for the tip Tom.
