  • Kubota V2003 temp sensor locations?

Posted by Andrew on April 9, 2023 at 11:37 am

I have a coolant temp gauge pegged at max. The connections to the gauge look fine. I am wondering where the temp sensors are on the engine. The Kubota service manual is surprisingly completely absent of coolant temp sensor locations.

I believe I see one sensor on the cylinder head, and one sensor near the alternator. Is it correct that one of these could have been added by PowerTech and the other is standard sensor for Kubota? Thanks.

The only temp sensor that I know of on ours is on the thermostat housing.

I think your assumption is correct. One will be the engine manufacturers sending unit which is a variable device for the gauge. The other one will be a a temp switch by the generator manufacturer that will shut the engine down in an over heat condition.

Thanks for the feedback. I must have overlooked that one on the thermostat. I’ll take another look.
