Kubota service manual availability
Have found three versions of Powertech 17.5 manual but none really give detail on the engine. Specifically the water temp sensors and how to test. How are they wired on the engine.
Have searched online for the info but no return for the 2202 2203 engine. Kubota site doesn’t address generator engines. If I had a tractor, lawn mower or numerous other Kubota powered products I could find service manuals.
Anyone have source for Powertech Kubota detailed service manuals?
My unit has the relay cubes and not the electronic control unit.

I emailed you 2 two manuals that I have. Hope they are of some help.

Take a look on the Powertech site. That’s where I found mine.

That site has all the info on servicing the engine and verifying all component values such as crankshaft and valve measurements.
None of the manuals give details on the water temp sensor and the other three sensors in the coolant system and how to test them.

Maybe someone else can confirm this but if your sensor has one wire to the terminal on the sending unit, get a voltage meter and put it in the OHM position and put the positive probe on the terminal and ground the negative (black) probe to the base of the sensor or the engine block.
If you get a OHM reading the sensor is open, if your reading is 00 that might mean the sensor is closed or on to send the signal of temp.
I might have this backwards but most sensors that open and close can be OHMed out.
I have no idea what the proper OHM reading should be.
With all that said my assumption could be totally wrong.
Hopefully some one with more electrical expertise can verify.

I got a paper manual from Kumar Bros USA (www.kumarbrosusa.com ) for $24. It’s a quality reprint of the Kubota manual. They sell parts as well.
On my PowerTech, the high temp shut down is a sensor/circuit that is added by PowerTech. The Kubota has only a oil pressure switch for auto shutdown. PowerTech also adds a low coolant sensor near the coolant fill cap. Lack of coolant will also shut down the engine.
