  • Koni shocks

This is our first Prevost. It has 68k miles since new. The shocks appear to be 65 series black Monroe gas. I’m not certain how a Prevost is suppose to ride. Ours rides like a bucking bronco in the front seats when on less than perfect roads. I’m thinking “no wonder they have these air ride driver seats in them”. I decided this can’t be right. So I ordered a pair of adjustable Koni shocks for the front. They where easy to install. The gas shocks that came off were dry and still had a gas charge. As recommended by Koni, I left the the new shocks set as they come in the box, set on the softest setting. I am happy to report that the ride is much improved.

We have a speed bump in our neighborhood that is a good test for the dampening effect of shocks. With the old shocks, the coach would osolate/porpuse up and down 4 complete cycles after going over this speed bump at the speed of a normal walk. With the new Konis it is reduced the # of osolations to 1.

The old rear shocks are the same as the old fronts. The rear of the coach rides OK, no osolating, but I’m gonna put new shocks on anyway.

What are my choices and what do you recommend?

    Thanks
