Kohler Generator Intake hose needed.
Posted by Frank on September 25, 2019 at 10:49 pmDoes anyone know where to get this hose #13 in the diagram? The couple places that I found that can get it they want over $100 for it.
It probably is just a common molded coolant hose?

From my NAPA Parts days. Hose is not a common coolant hose.
Searched all possible sources.
Propriety SKU to Kohler. Sorry wish I had better news.

Last molded hose I needed I went to Napa and they let me look at all the hoses hanging in the back and was able to match one up.

I would agree with Tom and go to a store that let me rummage through their inventory. Due to the multiple bends it might require a couple of hoses, cut and joined using a thin wall connector like a conduit or copper pipe.

I figured I could go look and try to match one up. Each end of the hose is a different size. Since it is used as a air hose I assume I connect two different hoses to make it fit.

Since that is an air intake hose, be sure the hose you usse will not collapse when a slight suction is placed in it. Some hoses are reinforced for intake some not.
Just a thought.

If it is like the hose on my Kohler one end is open so there will be no restriction to create enough negative pressure to collapse the hose.

Different hose Jon, this is turbo hose not the one off the air filter

My take…spend the $135, get the right part, get on with life…

I will need up getting the correct one. I was just wondering if anyone ever cross referenced the hose and it turned out to be a common upper/lower radiator hose.

I’ve replaced the same on mine. With all the bends and flared end, you need to buy the proprietary Kohler part.

Where did you buy your hose at?
What was wrong with your hose? I was having the generator serviced and they said the hose was deteriorating and took it off and this is what it looked like on the flared end, the rest of the hose inside looks normal.

Nixon Power was the local commercial Kohler supplier. Their warehouse was somewhere in north Atlanta. I think they are regional as well. Their Nashville location replaced my exciter coil many years ago.
