Kohler Generator HE fault
I tried to start our Generator and it ran for 5 seconds then shut down, with the HE (High Engine Temperature) fault, the Gen Set is cold. I have gone through all the connections to the junction box to make sure there wasn’t a loose wire or connection, all appears ok. There are three temperature sensors, two at the thermostat housing on the engine and one on the Rad in the front spare tire bay. I am thinking that the one on the Rad and one on the engine are Marathon installed for fan controls, the one with the wire I trace to the Control Board is the Kohler sensor. I got a new sensor from Kohler, when I checked the resistance between the old and new one, they were very close. I installed the new sensor anyway and I still get the same HE fault after the gen. set starts and runs for about 5 seconds. It is looking like it may be in the controller?? I was just wondering if anyone has experienced similar issues on their Marathon Gen Set.

As a follow up, I had to get a new Controller – Kohler part # GM24037. Installed and parameters set, all is working perfect!
