KenWorth COE from the past
St Louis, Mo. Friday evening I-44 came upon this beauty. Had license plate showing licensed historical vehicle with number.
Have no idea on year for this COE (cab over engine) tractor.

I always like the look of those cab over tractors. They still run um over the pond in Europe. Easier to get around on there tiny roads.

The first year they made them was 1976, I had one it was a 1977

My Pete COE was a 1972 with a Cummins 370 and 13 speed tranny.
This was back when I was a puppy.

I remember back in the early 70’s, we never did get our chain link fence delivered. Kept a-wait’n and a-wait’n.

Bet you did not have any front axle brakes. Nice old truck. Lots of guys are restoring tractors like this. That 370 was a big horse back then.

Bill, I was so fired up about A/C one of the first and it worked for about 3 months and then nothing but trouble. But, I DID have an air operated passenger window, state of the art and steer brakes.
Al, I think Bernie was hauling produce in those days and had a diplomatic pass to Mexico.

Tom, I had a ’76 KW W900 brand new back then, it also had an air power passenger window, what a great feature back then, especially to tell “lot lizards” to get off my truck LOL.
I had front brakes, but removed them to get rid of the weight, and have steering in case of a lock up.

Well, when I was that age, I only had a 4 speed 1958 VW Bug.
I had to double-clutch it (correct term?) to shift up or down.
