  • Jaguar F-pace tow

Posted by TJ on August 20, 2017 at 8:42 am

Does anyone have a Jaguar F pace they tow? Looking at buying one and possibly use as a tow. Was wondering if anyone has had experience doing that. Thank

    Hello TJ and Bryan,

When you say ‘tow’, are you wanting to tow it four down or on a trailer?

Here is a 2017 towing guide from Motorhome magazine:

For four-down towing, it’s best to look in the owner’s manual of the vehicle.

My guess is the Jag will be tough one. Driveshaft disconnects can be fitted to just about any front engine / RWD vehicle. I have seen it done on several sports cars, so I suspect if the F-pace is RWD, not AWD, it might be possible. Since that model is so new, ypu may be the first pioneer. Ypu may have to be creative. I can vouch that the driveshaft disconnects work well. I had one installed on my F250 that lacked the proper transfer case for towing 4-down.

Good luck, and keep us posted.

Thanks guys, I’ll check on the driveshaft disconnection. It’s a car we’re considering buying. The dealer can’t even tell us whether we can pull it behind a bus. More research is needed.

If you have enough Benjamins you can tow anything. The question then becomes is it worth it.

Both Jaguar and Range Rover (both Tata Motors) models are a no-go for flat tow without major modifications.

I have been flat towing an F250 for years that per the guides is a “no-go”. The driveshaft disconnect is not what I would consider a major modifiction, in cost or scope. I think what could easily make the vehicles mentioned a major modification, or even prohibative is if there is no OEM way to completely disengage the front portion of the driveline.
