Being from Wyoming I agree with Peter, and also
because he’s right. In very slick
conditions it is sometimes best at low speed to place an automatic transmission
in neutral when trying to stop a lightly loaded vehicle. This all depends on the details. Sometimes, when trying to stop in very slick
conditions the transmission applies just enough torque to the drive wheels that
the braking force required to overcome this “idle” torque will cause the
undriven wheels to lock.
