  • It’s been fun…. But…..

Posted by Jim on April 7, 2015 at 9:50 am

While staying in St. augustine this winter for the 14th year the wife and I pulled the trigger on a beachfront cottage. I’ve reluctantly agreed to sell the Prevost since I can’t justify having it sit in storage. We are going to downsize to a small 32′ dynamax to go back and forth from Michigan to Florida. Breaks my heart since we remodeled the interior last year and spent 30k zeroing out the coach the year before. Since Panterra coach did the remodel, they and holland motorhomes in michigan have put out a deal to purchase my coach and get me the dynamax I want. All I need to do is swing into the dealer in Michigan and make sure the wife likes the smaller unit. I’m sure I could have sold the coach outright and got a little more but “timing” lead me to consider this route. This has been a wonderful coach and since we’ve replaced the batteries, tires, norgrens, shocks, air bags, dozens of valves, belts, delam inspection ect…. I’ve got great maintenance records and Jeff at ETLC knows the coach well, it will make for a great purchase for someone looking to get into the Prevost lifestyle. If anyone sees it for sale, feel free to contact me about it. I’m going to give Panterra all the maintenance records but not sure how and if the dealers pass them on.

Thanks for for all the help over the years but I always promised my wife if we found the right place I would sell….. Promises made, promises kept = happy life! LOL

should be back in Michigan in about 2 weeks to do the deal.

Jim, congratulations on the new (beach house) and pending purchase (Dynamax) and I was looking forward to meeting the both of you at a Prevost rally. I’ve seen you post for many years on the rv.net site during the ‘several’ coaches that you owned over that time.

    Good luck and safe travels,

    Mark

thanks mark, still hoping to run into you along the road and take a peek at your new bus. It was fun reading your updates as she was being built.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Enjoy your new cottage and don’t be a stranger. We need the dues money.

    Jim,

Sorry we won’t get to meet somewhere down the road. Your coach looks very nice, probably a little over what I’m looking to spend in Dec., but I’m glad you got a good deal with Panterra.

I know you remodeled and took out the washer/dryer, but did you leave all the connections so that it could be reversed with a washer and dryer installed?

    Thanks and good luck.

Sure hate to see you go, but I understand and please stay on the site, we don’t care what you drive. We all will get to that point one day in our lives, when down sizing makes sense, nothing wrong with that. Wish you the best on your new adventure. And for what’s it’s worth, I like those Dyna’s….

Thanks Peter, I really appreciate all the advice you gave me. Took me 2 years but she is finally “tight” and has been trouble free this entire year of travel. Your the one who convinced me the Royale was the right coach for me, best advice I got when searching. I hope our paths cross in the future. Be safe….jim

I’ll be heading to nashville on my way north, staying at the KOA on music valley. If anyone is interested in discussing my coach before we head to Panterra get ahold of me. The plan is to pick up the 2015 Dynamax DQ320XL on the way home, transfer the contents, that should be fun, and begin a new journey in RV’ing.

well today day is the day I figure out how to fit the contents of my bus into our downsized “baby girl”. We’re in south haven and its a warm 42 degrees for the event. Met with Rex and Randy from Panterra yesterday to finalize the sale. I’m REALLY gonna miss my bus, didn’t think I would be this sad to see her go. But I have to keep reminding myself about the cottage on the beach. Gonna teach the wife how to drive it so that can be a shared thing……she never would try to drive the bus.

Hope pe to see you guys on the road, I know whenever I pass a bus there will be a little tinge in my heart.
