Isri Driver Seat Removal
Posted by Archived on January 2, 2012 at 1:55 pmThe foam in our drivers seat has seen it’s day and is not comfortable for those long stretches. I found a local guy here in Titusville what will re-do the foam with the lastest memory foam material for 200 bucks. The seat cushion is easy to remove, two small screws in the front, lift up and forward and out it comes.

If anyone is considering ISRI seat removal I recommend doing it in pieces.
When I redid our living room I made the mistake of just unbolting it from the floor and trying to lift it out of position and out of the way. After I seriously damaged my back I realized I should have just taken it apart in three sections making the handling of it much easier.
I did disassemble it prior to replacement and it made the effort a whole lot less when I reinstalled it. Ditto with the co-pilot seat which I think is Villa or Flex Steel, but is equally heavy.

Are you going to be in Tville till April? We will be south in Feb -April Bob

Nope, just Jan Bob and then over to Ft Myers for Feb then back to GA.

Got my seat back today and what a difference. The guy who did the job made the comment that Isri used junk for the foam and inside material. The foam had completely wore out and had no support at all. I’m sure it was probably a good grade foam back in it’s day, but he didn’t think so.

Bonz,
Before I post a picture of the seat, the leather seating material didn’t get changed, just the foam. You still want a pic?

How timely. I’m having my ISRI seat and co-pilot seat refoamed on Thursday while passing through Junction City, OR. I was quoted $600 for the pair.
BTW, Country Coach looks a lot like a ghost town. They are open for service and sales, but nothing is being produced yet. The common thought around town is that it will be a year before the first new Country Coach is built.
