A friend of mine posted the picture of the coach, pickup, and pontoon boat. If I see this rig broke down along the side of the road … I don’t know what I’d do … stop and try to help or keep driving and look the other way.

I’ve seen that previously and remain in awe of the ingenuity it took to create that loading system.
I don’t think it is any different than some of the ways motorcycle owners have created to load a heavy bike into the bed of a pickup truck.

You’d have thought he would have at least taken the outboard off to get the center of gravity down. The bus at least shelters the boat from the ongoing wind. Not sure I’d like to be following the truck/boat on its own down the interstate at 70mph!

I thought I recognized that coach and I do not know if Lon at Florida Luxury Coach has the truck and boat for sale, but this sure looks like the coach.

About two weeks ago I saw a Prevost pulling a Jeep pulling a boat, like pulling double trailers. This was on US287 in TX.

Was the Jeep attached to the Prevost with a tow bar? Or a logging chain?

Out west triples are common. You will see a pickup with a fifthwheel pulling a boat behind the fifthwheel. Not that uncommon. So the Prevost was perfectly legal. Now about the drawbar being overloaded, that I cannot say.

I think that is why I see the drawbar being replaced by a logging chain. We see that stuff in Wisconsin coming from the western states on I-90 and 94.

Looked like a towbar to me, but we were going the other direction at speed so I can’t be sure… Many years ago I investigated pulling double trailers with a pickup truck. Back then I was told that the first trailer needed to be a 5th wheel or gooseneck and the second trailer could be a bumper pull style hitch.

Towing laws vary from state to state… Some states allow triple towing and some don’t… they also have overall length restrictions for each state that does allow it.
Texas is either 65′ or 70′ can’t remember which but they do allow it.
We often triple tow … Prevost…Suburban…Golf Cart in Trailer… when we do it’s just to our place at the beach and we drive around 60 mph and never draw extra attention… we stay in the slow lane and obey all other laws… we are over legal length and have been passed by many DPS and never stopped thank goodness.
I hate it … but it doesn’t bother Larry at all !!
By choice I wouldn’t do it !!
