Is there no cure for stupid?
Well, yesterday, I found out what it means that you cannot cure stupid. I have been having problems with the aux air not holding air and the California air compressor not kicking in.
When I checked it, the compressor showed full pressure and when I opened the drain valve, it did release air and moisture. The compressor then started to recharge the tank.
BUT, I did not get air into the house …
In my mind, something and somewhere was blocking the air flow.
So … in pursuit of the blockage, I removed the compressor and in order to get to the hoses and filters, I had to remove the box behind the front bumper. It was not difficult but it took some time.
So … I figured … first, I have to put the compressor back on line to be able to search for the problem.
That is when I noticed that there are 2 pressure gauges on the compressor.
The one I have been staring at all the time showing full pressure.
And the other one, kind of hidden on the back of the compressor and not easy to see without moving the compressor around inside the box…
That gauge showed Zero pressure.
When I opened that valve … low and behold … I heard air filling the hoses.
Woo Hoo.
Aux air back and working.
My conclusion is that I must have tried to adjust the air pressure and I inadvertently turned that 2nd stage down to zero.
Well, good thing that I am heading to ETLC in a couple of weeks. It should prevent me from causing more harm.

Don’t be too hard on yourself Ron. We all do and have done stuff, some of which goes far beyond stupid.
What makes us different from you, is we lie about it and deny it.

As long as it only cost time, it’s okay. Once you pay someone a chunk of money to diagnose us messing around with our coaches does it become stupid 🙂

Don’t feel bad Ronald, last month I drove myself nuts not being able to get the autostart light on my dash to light up even though I new the inverter settings were correct.
Hello, dumb ass I said to myself, go turn on the gen 12v battery disconnect that I had turned off for other reasons. The simple things drive ya crazy.

Then there was the time I spent 30 minutes trying to set the stupid digital clock on my car radio one evening. I struggled and struggled, pressed every combination of buttons that I possibly could and could not get the time to change from 9:00 (and by the time I gave up 9:30) AM to PM.
Next morning when I changed stations I saw that the time was now 8:15 FM.
