That’s my coach and Jeff and Andrew have definitely cracked the Marathon code. I had my initial iPad upgrade done at Marathon-Texas and it never worked right. Marathon’s implementation of the upgraded iPad system was pathetic and a total waste of money and time. I would strongly recommend against using them. Jeff not only fixed it but unlocked many functions that Marathon never bothered to put on the coach. Jeff and Andrew are really wizards.
I thought about keeping the coach very basic. I asked Jeff if he could make it like Jon’s dash. Jeff said he would have to order a pad of paper and several pencils to mount on the dash (LOL).
Cant wait to to see everyone at Oyster Fest. Getting there Friday late afternoon.

The only pad on my dash is a “post-it” pad.
I’m still trying to figure out where the choke is on this bus so I can get it started.

I like my non-connected coach. No getting stuck in the bathroom when something goes wrong with the Star Trek doors yet I can’t monitor my beer cooler while out on a motorcycle ride. I’ll just have to assume the ice in the cooler is doing it’s job and I’ll be rewarded when I get back.

When I was at Jeff’s last November, he was working on this upgrade for Marathons … guess he has cracked the Tech Link Marathon code.

Have you installed a GPS navigation system on the iPad? If so, what kind?

I did not put GPS in the system at the present time. It can be done easily though. Jeff has several ways to do it. I may add it next time but my phone works fine and my navigator is able to take care of the phone so I am not distracted.
Tom, the inverter screen is a tech link issue. The first time I saw it I panicked. Got out the meter and started checking the voltage at the outlets etc. they were all 117-120. I have similar incorrect readings on the Gen screen. Figuring all that out is the next project.

Keep in mind this is coming from a guy that hasn’t even got a cell phone that can take pictures, much less an ipad to dispaly and control some coach systems.
If I were to create displays for an ipad that is used to perform multiple functions, such as monitor system values, or provide a touch pad to control systems or even function as a back up camera I would do several things. First, I would prioritize the use of the screen. In other words I would not allow the screen to display anything other than a camera view if the coach transmission was in reverse. Unless there was a unit of measurement that was out of range, such as the voltages.
I would not allow out of range values to be shown in normal colors. If the display shows voltages for example in black, any out of range voltage will show in a bright red or a flashing red.
Finally, I would not allow the screen display to show something else unless there was an acknowledgement of the out of range value, such as an “accept” box that had to be touched.
We have so many buzzers or bells or tones potential available to us now, I would also make the ipad that displays a flashing value be accompanied by a simulated voice that repeats the out of range value also until the accept box was touched.
Make Andrew and Jeff do that Chris. I will waive my normal fees for brilliant ideas and they will make this addition to your dispaly at their cost as part of the development cost.
If you are going to harness the full range of capabilities for a system such as described in the posts above, go all the way and increase its value as a device that not only provides features now in use on other systems, but goes beyond to help you recognize when you need to take actions beyond the normal functions.

Since my coach was the Marathon guinea pig the system is still a work in progress. I do appreciate the input and also the help spending my money LOL. I certainly can tell you are a pilot by your suggestions for priority of alarms etc. Really a good model for design as our coaches and planes are all complex machines with lots of possible failure points. We can fine tune the plan this weekend in Gulf Shores.
