Inverters?
I need to think about replacing at least 1 of my inverters for now before I replace my old Wirlpool Refer, What is a good dependable inverter for my coach. It has the original inverters 2 black Zantrex Freedom 2500 Watt, and it is not a pure sine wave inverter. should I get a pure sine wave inverter for the newer electronics on a new refer? Is the charger part better also? Do I need 2 inverters?
Also why does Prevost use 2 inverters? Most large RV’s have 1 inverter? looking at Magnum’s there is a lot of different models 50 to 125 amp chargers?Magnum MS2812 looks is OK? Here is specs for my old inverter

Most Prevost conversions keep the two split 120V phases from the 240V 50 amp inlet separate. Thus the need for two inverters. Each split phase gets its own inverter.
Regarding the “pure sine” vs “modified sine” inverters: Much of it is marketing. They should be called “better sine”. It is just a matter of how many pulses you get to approach sine wave. Look at the THD (total harmonic distortion) value. It describes how close the output is to a sine wave. Good “pure sine” inverters are in the 2-5% range, modified sine wave are around 25-30%.
The only true pure sine wave is through rotational generation, e.g. generators.

The direct replacement for the Freedom 25 is a Magnum. A whole lot of those replacements have taken place over the years.
The reason conventional RVs have one inverter is they spend all their money on glitz and bling and the systems are not important to them.

Does that mean the MS2812 is not very good?

That inverter looks to be a good replacement for the Freedom. Seems to have the output wattage and is pure sine wave. I think the remote uses the same cable as the Freedom remote and may also fit the same space.

That magnum is good and as close as you can find for ease of installation…You will have to make up battery cables as the Magnum does not have any..

I will install we did Mobile RV service so I’m pretty good at installs just wanted to make sure that MS2812 is a decent unit, it has a 3 year warranty and Hodge Marine has it for $1475 plus remote is $135

We did a drop in replacement of both Freedoms with Magnum MS 2812s about 6 years ago. The remotes were plug in as well, using the same communication wires and mount points. Very pleased so far…

Ordered 1 of the Magnums MS2812 and also a new refer, It’s funny the refer in their now is a Whirlpool side by side that is 22 years old and still working and the new one is the same a Whirlpool side by side but with the satin black stainless no finger prints, it is 1.4 cubic larger 2 inches taller and 1.5 inches deeper, looks like their is room in the back to slide it back a couple of inches and I can trip the top piece to fit and I’m going to purchase the 5 year warranty that covers parts-labor and service calls thruLowes , next year I will replace the 2nd Freedom inverter that is on the Microwave side. Hodges Marine has the inverter MS2812 for $1485 no tax and free shipping, found it a little cheaper but no free shipping that’s big
