Interior Updates
Trying to update some of the 90s vintage stuff in my bus. I’m amazed that some of these things haven’t already been done… like installing flat screens in place of this fat old tube type TVs. I really have no idea what to do with the old TVs, VHS players, and cassette players! haha… Amazing, I can install 28″ flat screens in the same area where the 19″ TVs were. I picked up two Vizio 28″ LED Smart TVs, and two Sony Blu-Ray players that I will be installing, along with my media server that contains over 1200 movies and over 35,000 songs that can be selected by both front and rear entertainment systems. These, plus NetFlix and Wi-Fi hotspot should keep us entertained. Still trying to figure out the satellite system.

Also doing cosmetic updates to the interior. The first is the driver’s seat. While it is not a new seat, having the existing heated and massaging seat reupholstered was a huge improvement.

Wow, cool! Where did you have the seat upholstered? My Isri seat needs new leather. Using a Mor-Ryde TV mount I was able to put a 32″ TV up front without any cabinet modifications and I think it looks great (Vizio as well). I will see if I can take a pic and post it.
We are currently at Prevost Mira Loma. Came in for an oil change, found a leaking tag axle seal and now they have screwed something up to where we have no brakes. Nice!

I just used a local upholstery shop in my hometown. They were referred by a friend who had used them in the past. They gave me a screaming deal that I promised I wouldn’t share… But I’ll tell you that it was just less than $201. 😉 And that includes the upholstery. I hated the black seat and it was worn anyway. They had done some repair work on the sofa and dinette so I told them to get enough to cover the driver seat. They told me that regular price they would charge would be about $350 to do the seat.. Still a great deal I think!

Thanks for the info. I found a similar shop in Tucson, AZ and they did our couch, the passenger seat and my recliner. They did excellent work! I am now a huge fan of microfiber materials as the cats cannot ruin this stuff!
I may be headed that way again in a few months and I will see if they can do the drivers seat and make it look like yours.

Haven’t posted any pictures in a while. After all of the random problems I had going to Talladega, I spent time getting those worked out. Luckily, it all happened to be silly little non-related issues. Probably just from the bus sitting prior to me buying it.

Dick, I ended up going a different route than originally planned on the media server. My intent was to have one centrally located media server that would wirelessly feed both ends of the bus with movies and music. I had it working with a little unit by RavPower but I didn’t like the results. So what I did was end up just adding a portable 2Gb hard drive to the back of each Blu-Ray player. Yes, to add movies I’ll have to take each unit out separately and upload them, but they are easy to access and just a simple USB plug. It is much faster than wireless and I don’t have to worry about interference. Those portable drives are getting very cheap… Less than $100 each. Two things: for easiest use, make sure and get the drives that are powered by the USB so you don’t have to run an extra power cords. And also, the USB port on all players will not work. Luckily, on these Sonys I bought they work fine. I know for example that Samsungs will not work. Hope that helps.
