I need to get an intercom system between the bedroom and driver. Ideally it would be a handsfree type setup so I don’t have to pick up a handset. Any ideas? I see a number of wireless sets available online.

    Thank you.

All of my coaches had intercoms from the BR to the driver, one had an intercom next to the toilet.

The next time I use one will be my first. Have her call you on your cell phone.

    Jimmy,

Is this really a need, or is it more of a want? From 45′ I would think you could hear someone call you with simply a loud voice. We have some hand held walkie talkies used when we were moving and driving different vehicles, I could send you the model numbers if you want to consider a really inexpensive way to communicate with the bedroom from the driver’s seat. I can imagine that communication could be very distracting and distracted driving is the equalivent to drowsey driving which is equivilent to drunk driving. So why bother. Cell phones, no good either.

How about a wireless doorbell… its loud and very small… just hit the button and believe me they’ll come running to the front!!

I believe having an intercom is a need for our situation. My wife is ill, spending most of the day and night in the bedroom. I make an effort to always be “on call”.

We’re both a bit hard of hearing from too many years of rock and roll. In our home, we find shouting from room to room doesn’t work…we can’t understand each other with even with a loud voice. Hence, I need to be available in and around the coach without any strain. And Jon gave me an idea…I probably will put an intercom in the bathroom. And also down in one of the bays so when I’m grilling or having happy hour while she’s in the bedroom I would always be available.

Definitely an intercom system is a need…not a want. So now I think I will install 4 stations…somehow.

I wasn’t kidding about the cell phone. More versatile, and always with you.

I will have to do some research to come up with the name,But you can get an intercome phone system with multiple handsets. I have seen up to 6 on one coach.

This may be a problem with using Jon’s cell phone ?

An intercom won’t work for the younger generation. They only respond to text messages.
