Installed new Dometic Fresh Jet 5 (times 3)
We have been having multiple issues with our various Dometics that were likely 30 years old, of course, noisy. While we only reduced the noice level (about 10dB to 65) we took a huge leap toward keeping us sane and happy. One suddenly decided to leak into the ceiling and we wasted $1500 at ETLC where they said it was fixed. It was not. We had one with a heat strip and not heat pumps and one that was only a couple of years old but was not installed properly and had several issues including mismatched new control board with old thermostat. Dometic no longer builds the Penquin series so replacing the leaking one didn’t make any sense. We considered the Eco-Cool but we have no idea how it would intergrate with the multi-function Dometic thermostat.
So we have 3 new Dometics, the new CCC2 thermostat and they all drain to the ground thru the exisiting drain lines. No more water draining off the roof or into the ceiling! All the duct work existed so it was a pretty simple job once the parts all arrived. We have been very happy but might change the thermostat over the the Micro Air unit for additional function and accessibility via the internet.
We took the coach back to Signature Coach works in Beaumont, CA (not TX). They used to be a Marathon dealer and service center so many of the techs have been working on Prevosts for many years. I also had them preform a number of maintenance items and some upgrades. I can’t say enough about these folks and highly recommend them to anyone in the area. We actually were not in the area and drove 800 miles to have them do this work. We are currently on our way back 800 to arrive in Albuquerque, NM for the Balloon Fiesta starting Oct. 3rd.
