Info on Parks in Lower AL or FL Panhandle?
We have five days in between meetings the 3rd week of September that we have scheduled free. I am looking for a good place to park for a few days that won’t break the bank.
Any suggestions on RV Parks with long 50 amp spaces?
We will be going between Elba, Alabama and Richton, Mississippi. Any place in between will do, even down in the panhandle.

They do have some good deals in September that would make a spot there as affordable as some of the other parks in the area but the disclaimer on the front page of their website stops me cold in my tracks.
“Motorcoaches only with a minimum length of 32′ and must be no older than 15 years at time of arrival.”
That knocks my 96XL right in the creek. (This picture was taken 5 days ago.)
Most parks that stipulate an age also offer the caveat that older rigs might be allowed on inspection. There is no such language in their statement.

If I am not mistaken your coach is a 99 model which means it meets the criteria……..
Only Prevost experts can tell the difference between model years.

We were there with our 93 after having asked if it would make the cut. They were quite frank in saying that they had not seen a Prevost that was objectionable. Ask…couldn’t hurt. Nice place to stay and the area restaurants can be great!

Great looking coach! I think the first I’ve seen with a window in the bathroom–nice touch.
I’m with everyone else, if it looks good they aren’t going to ask to see your registration. If you make reservations, just let them know you have a 99 with a 93 registration.

Thanks. The guy that ordered this coach was very mindful of safety. A good example is the escape window in the bathroom and two rooftop escape hatches.
Thanks all for the advice. I may call them if I head that direction. I will be straight up with them about the year though.

If you feel like staying along the Emerald Coast (Pensacola, Navarre, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Sandestin) there are two new RV resorts that have opened on Highway 98. Both are a fairly easy 30 minute drive straight south from Interstate 10.
I wrote about the two new parks in this post.
Make sure and let me know if you stay in the area – I would enjoy meeting another PC member!

I drove through both in the first part of May and would add these are nice parks. The one near Destin will likely be better if you want to explore Destin and will likely have less road noise than the other. Personally, a daily rate approaching $100 is too much for what they are. It’s off season so the rates will be better.

I just checked and the rates for Destin West RV drops from $99 to $60 per night beginning Monday. I agree with Gil, Destin West would be a little more quiet than Santa Rosa. Also, there are plenty of nice restaraunts and other attractions near Destin West. As a bonus, it is five minutes from my house! 🙂
