  • In Dash LED Touch Screen Monitor

Posted by Daniel on December 3, 2019 at 9:41 pm

    Hi Everyone

Just wanted some input on any suggestions You might have to replace a worn out & blurred Kenwood LZ-702W in dash monitor.

My Marathon H3-45 2004 as a hole in dash way bigger than this monitor installed I guess way back ! as I just bought it this way about 4 weeks ago.

Any suggestion on update models that would fit and cover hole in dash ?

I plan to use a Rand McNally 8 inch pad as my new GPS source that will be mounted on drivers side A w/Shield pillard. So trying to find a Monitor to replace the in dash unit.

    Thanks

I had ETLC program the Crestron info, Pressure Pro, Review Camera and more for an iPad that comes in 2 sizes which could cover the original hole.

However, there is a lot of glare on the iPad which makes it hard to see while driving and I wish it were recessed. Now I’m thinking to downsize to the smaller iPad so it could be recessed into the dash and reduce the glare.

Jimmy et al, One of my biggest gripes is the ability to view a screen on the dash that tends to get is image washed out by sunny conditions.

So far I am batting 1000 when it comes to having the problem because every one of my coaches has had the issue.

First, it relates to placement. If it is placed where the sun can hit the screen it is an issue. If it is placed in a position or at an angle where light reflecting off of my shirt the screen image is washed out.

This is not rocket science. My Garmin GPS is set next to the windshield post to the left at an angle where the screen is never impacted by sunlight or a reflection off of a white or light colored shirt.

If anyone intends to correct the problem of poor quality viewing of the back up camera monitor or Ipad it has to consider shielding from the sun as well as its angle so light clothes do not reflect back sunlight. I try to remember to drive with dark or black shirts to minimize the problem.

Try a anti glare film. They sell them at most office stores for Ipad’s and computer screens. Cut to fit
