Harry,
Log in and the BIG RED Button on the top of the forum main page, when clicked brings you to the discount programs.
I am not being a smart ass when I say this, but if you can see the filter part number on your filters anyone can cross reference them except places like Walmart. Go to a real parts store, preferably NAPA with the discount card. If you cannot see the filters well enough to get part numbers you might want to reconsider if you really want to be changing them.
Diesel fuel is very hard to get out of clothing. Plan on wearing some your first time you try doing stuff. All converters seemed to have their own version of fuel filters with some using the standard primary and secondary, some adding one of their own such as a Racor, and some using a Racor instead of a primary. If we give you filter numbers take that information as a suggestion and it must be verified.

open right rear curb side compartment door. Look in and you will see one white filters about 10 inches tall. One has the water separator cup Near that filter will be a red twist lever that shuts off fuel from tank. You’ll need to close fuel line before removing primary filter.
then open rear compartment doors on left side of engine closer to rear doors you’ll see another white 8-10 inch taller filter. That’s the secondary These are where they were on our Beaver #34
Be sure you fill each filter with fuel. Be care on the primary the inner rubber seal and the thin outer rubber ring make it back place. If not, motor will suck air and you’ll have to reprime whole engine. been there done that -
The CB’s i guess are the circut breakers that you can reset. Just push the button in to reset. They are in the compartment over the engine up on the bulkhead. 2 wingnuts fasteners and door hinges down. Mine is marked on door were everything goes and does. There electric goodies under your feet on outside, 0n top door. Bottom door air tank and coils.

The guy I bought the bus from said you guys are telling me exactly right! But what they don’t know is the way I maintained it. He said in the four and a half years he’s owned it, everything was done ahead of schedule, it never sat more than 45 days without going on a min 30 mile run and everything, as the records show, was done 2 months before I bought the coach. He said he’s hard pressed to believe it’s a filter issue! He thinks something is not makeing a 100% connection or like one of you said, to check the circuit breakers. But I need to get this fixed whatever it is! I live in the mountains and most every direction I travel there are significant hills and I have to have the Jake brake to survive the life! I came in on 64 west and that has some bills but nothing like the others directions I will have to travel! If I have to travel to Asheville or Franklin they have crazy crazy hills. My best bet would be something like Chattanooga where I can take 64 east which is manageable. Hopefully I can find a place there who can help me! As far as the Dragon, I took my car over that going up to see Jon. There is no chance I’d take my coach on it. If the Dragon didn’t get me the people behind me would!
Tomorrow should be a pretty day and I’ll go over and look at everything I can look at and put my hand on everything to make sure it’s tight. I’ll look at all the breakers and make sure they are as they should be. This is one time it would be helpful if I had some RV experience. But we’ve all had to be first at doing something and I’ll make this happen for sure!!!

One other thing to check is all the connections to the ECM in the rear, on top of the engine, as well as wiring leading to the ECM. All the plugs are to the right. The ECM has fuel running through its jacket to cool it. May need to take some things apart to see/inspect the harness, wires, and the plugs.
My Jakes were not working, went into limp mode several times and took hours of diagnosis…..
Turned out that the Limp mode was due to the harness towards ECM wires that were too close to the exhaust pipes in the rear/top of the engine and corroded/melted. Inspected all the wires, cut some and soldered properly, wrapped the harness and routed correctly….no more limp mode…
And the Jakes not working……on that vintage the Jakes harness from the front of the bus comes into the rear ECM and through the bottom left corner ECM plug, to the Jakes solenoids…Found a lot of crud, dirt, corrosion inside those plugs.
Cut the 12v and 24V power off, remove the side plugs from the ECM and clean everything VERY well with contact cleaner, both the ECM sockets and the Harness plugs. Blow off with compressed air, let it dry, don’t use dielectric grease, just make sure everything is clean…..Put it back together…..Fixed my Jakes….

Just signed up for NAPA and I thank you for your help!
It looks like I’m going to learn a lot about my coach in a hurry! My only fear is doing something wrong and then I can’t move the coach to take it to be fixed. The dreaded oops! Its the fear of the unknown but that I can handle it I have no doubt. Its like my drive home, you have it to do so do it!
If I need to take it to a shop, any ideas you guys have of where to take it I’d appreciate very much! I’m in Murphy, NC which is in the far southwest corner of North Carolina.
Thanks again to one and all,
Harry

One other thing I should add. At my first fill up I walked around the coach and saw a strap hanging down from the right side of the engine. I opened the battery bay and that’s where it was coming from, to the rear of the engine. I called Brandon and he said its from a pipe going to the exhaust and it’s there to defer the heat from the things above. He acted as if it were no big deal… Is that right?
I know it was not hanging down when Brandon and I did the walk around so I doubt it was part of the problem I’m now having. Do you agree?

Got the same motor, same year and I ain’t got a pipe/hose coming off exhaust. Got 2 hoses with check valves coming out of block for air box drains on either side. If it’s a strap maybe a stactic electricity strap??
-
He said the material was to keep heat from going up and melt wires above. He was right that the material was in fact wrapped around a pipe! I’ll take a picture in the the morning!

Maybe on the piping from or to the turbo. I don’t have it on mine.
-
Post a photo. Otherwise we will never know what you are really talking about.
-
I have pictures but the video didn’t help me to figure out how to post them. I seems to be missing something!
If anyone can tell me 1. 2. 3. how to insert a picture I have three of them to show what I’ve been talking about on the wrapping!
Thanks,
Harry
