  • Im going the wrong way

Im rolling along rt90 today headed east from the sturgis area and marvelling at all the bikers still headed to sturgis. Its like a damn parade there are so many. I dont know where they are gonna fit cause the place looked pretty full when we left. Any way there we are rolling along and i start noticing prevost afterprevost heading west. Am I headed the wrong way again? Is there some super secret non rally rally happening out west ? Or are they all going to hat creek to help peter and tom string some new fence?

By the way those westbound coaches sure did look pretty rolling along.

    Red,

We left that area on Sunday and are with you… constant stream of folks heading west and I couldn’t believe how packed in they were… in the campground we were at we were the only non-bikers in the place…. Traffic wasn’t as bad as I was expecting… we visited Crazy Horse and Mount Rushmore and off we went…

Lots of bands playing Sturgis. Don’t know if that is what you are seeing.

It’s the annual Hog pilgrimage to Sturgis, we did it many years pulling a trailer with plastic coaches and then Prevosts. Always got harassed by buddies who wear a t-shirt that said, “I rode mine to trailer week.” You never know about the Sturgis weather, but 90% of the time it was brutal hot. Over the years we got to see more and more Prevosts and it seems that still is holding true today based on what you’re seeing westbound. Nothing like riding in that heat all day and then getting to the campground and entering the bus with the A/C’s at full tilt.

We’re now woosies and did it this year with the Jeep. Hmm, Custer Park with the A/C cranked down, my how times have changed.
